Finn Ryan

An exploration of brotherhood, societal division and redemption, Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner was no stranger to somber and despairing subjects.  The novel captured and then shattered the hearts of readers with each page.  But sprinkled among the painful descriptions were visions of hope and beauty.  Kite fighting and flying, for instance, served as a bonding pastime between the characters.  In celebration of the activity, last Friday, Global Issues (021) took the sky, with kites in hand and an air of competition.
