Basketball (Girls) – Ava Preate and Bree Simpson
RGB has been making history this season with a dominant run through districts. After securing a bye in the first round, the girls claimed a crucial victory over Strath Haven, ensuring their spot in States. Radnor defeated Villa Maria (40-32) in the district semifinal, thanks to standout performances from junior captain Anna Reger (11 points) and sophomore Bree Simpson (16 points). Despite a late-game push from Villa, the girls held their composure to close out the win. The district championship against Gwynedd Mercy was an intense battle, but Radnor jumped to a 12-point lead by halftime. Despite Gwynedd mounting a comeback in the third quarter, Radnor was able to seal their 49-33 victory with a strong fourth quarter. The entire team contributed to the scoring effort, securing Radnor’s first district title since 2014. With their sights now set on States, the Raptors begin their Championship quest on March 8, eager to continue their momentum. Let’s go RGB!
Ice Hockey (Boys) – Hayden Goldenberg
Following an impressive season, RAHO concluded their season in the Central League Playoffs with a first-round defeat against the second-seeded Garnet Valley Jaguars. Despite a spirited performance, the boys were unable to overcome Garnet Valley, and the game ended in a 4-0 loss. Nevertheless, RAHO secured itself a spot in the Flyers Cup, during which they aim to extend their season and win the title. Additionally, the outdoor game at Spring Mountain has been rescheduled for March 6, where RAHO looks to triumph over Lower Merion once again. Go Radnor!
Ice Hockey (Girls) – Gabriella Eun
During last Friday’s close rematch against Conestoga, the Radnor Girls Hockey team played a tough game and came out on top with a crushing win 5-3. Unfortunately, on February 24, they lost their first playoff game against West Chester Henderson, with a final score of 3-9. Next Monday, March 3, our Girls Hockey team will be playing a rematch against West Chester Henderson, in the first round of states. It has been a tough year filled with many ups and downs, and we support our Radnor Girls Hockey team for always giving it their all. Go RAHA!
Indoor Track (Boys) – Commerce Fisk
In lieu of the weekly domination by Radnor Boys Track and Field in local and regional meets, the late stages of February brought championship season for a select group. On Saturday, February 15, a collection of the best athletes in the premier District I gathered at the Jane and David Ott Center. The fantastic times and standards set by Radnor athletes throughout this season culminated in their qualification for this TFCAGP Meet of Champions. Sophomore Zeph Yisrael began the excitement early at Penn, sprinting an impressive 22.88 in the 200m. Meanwhile, senior captain Brandon Nguyen competed well at Pole Vault, surpassing 11-03.00. Later, another captain, senior Owen Lim, stole the show in both the Long and Triple Jump. In Triple, Lim placed 5th overall, jumping 43-10.00 and earning a bid to the Pennsylvania State Championship. In the Long Jump, the captain jumped an astounding 22-08.75, another qualifying standard for the state championships. Not only did this jump earn Lim Pennsylvania #6 and U.S. #66, but also constituted a Radnor High School Record.
Five days later, the boys and girls teams gathered at Overbrook Golf Club to celebrate their phenomenal indoor seasons with a banquet. This weekend, Radnor’s prolific 4x400m team (composed of Joseph Garzio, Wayne Fontaine Jr, Zeph Yisrael, and Noah Engstrom) will compete at the State Championship, alongside Owen Lim in both the Long and Triple Jump. Recovering from a minor foot injury, Maryland commit Joseph Garzio will also run the 800m at states, looking to further cement his state and national dominance. Go Radnor!
Indoor Track (Girls) – Grace Kimlinger
After a season filled with much success, as the girls’ demanding meet schedule lulls, winter track comes to a close for RGTF. The regular season wrapped up on February 14 at the Garden State Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. Although only a small group of athletes participated, there were still some outstanding performances! Sophomore Natalie Merriam soared to 6th place in the pole vault with a top jump of 9 ft 6 in, matching her personal best of the season. Meanwhile, Katelyn Anderson (So.) and Emma Hyde (Sr.) both ran personal bests in the mile, placing 12th (5:15:68) and 19th (5:23:01), respectively. A huge congrats and best of luck to our 4x800m relay team (Kayla Cormier, Mia Richter, Katelyn Anderson, and Coco Conner), who will be racing at states this weekend! While most of our athletes won’t be seeing any indoor tracks in the near future, they look forward to a fun-filled outdoor track season, which begins in March. Be sure to look out for RGTF in the coming weeks!
Squash (Boys) – Harsh Kakkar and Kavin Thapar
This past weekend, Radnor High School Squash closed out their season and competed in the national championships. The boys showcased remarkable resilience and determination against formidable opponents. Despite facing two challenging losses early in the tournament, the team demonstrated unwavering focus and emerged victorious in their third match, with Harsh Kakkar winning an exceptionally close and long match against a great player. Kavin Thapar also played a great match, clinching a win for Radnor. Additionally, Augustyia Bhandani’s performance was exceptional, playing 3rd seed as a freshman. In their final match, Radnor secured another thrilling win to conclude the tournament on a high note. Throughout the competition, the team’s perseverance and teamwork were truly impressive, thanks to amazing leadership from our captains Harsh and Alex. Radnor Squash looks forward to offseason practices and to coming back better next year. GO RADNOR!!
Squash (Girls) – Ella Starzyk
Radnor Girls Squash’s season has come to an end after High School Nationals 2025. The girls played hard, winning their bracket and three out of five games. The team defeated Riverdale Country School (4-3), Buffalo Seminary (6-1), and the Rumson Fair Haven Girls (5-2), setting themselves up well for next year – although Rhea Howard, Julia Sareen, Juana Gallino, and Bella Flick will all be missed. A big shoutout to Juana Gallino for going undefeated throughout nationals! After winning, the girls celebrated with their team-bonding tradition of going to boba at the Arlen Specter Center, the hub for squash. The year will wrap with a banquet (held with the boys team). Congratulations to Radnor Girls Squash on their 2024-2025 season; we are so proud of every girl who played this year, and we wish the seniors the best of luck in their new chapter!
Swimming (Boys) – Mohammed Badri
Radnor Swim is wrapping the season up over the next couple of weeks. It has been an incredible year for both swimmers and coaches, and the results in the pool have reflected that. Following many practices filled with hard work and dedication, the 200 Free Relay finished 7th at Districts, getting Timmy Ledbetter, Luca Jones, Ethan Chang, and Alex Yu onto the podium. The future is unclear, as States competitors have not been decided quite yet. If anyone attends, however, it is certain that they will represent Radnor well.
Swimming (Girls) – Sophie Masicoli
The girls’ regular season ended a few weeks ago, and now we are deep into the postseason. Last weekend, some of our swimmers competed in District Championships. Junior Alice Lake placed second in the 100 Backstroke and third in the 100 fly, and both the 200 and 400 free relay placed eighth. Everyone had great swims, and Radnor finished 5th overall. Radnor Girls Swimming has not yet heard if anyone has made States, but we hope to see many swimmers attend!
