Midterms coated the new year in Radnor. Seniors grapple with the fact that 2026 means new beginnings, but also many goodbyes. Despite the cold weather and stressful exams our student athletes charge on representing Radnor on and off the court.
All the winter teams have worked hard so far and look to continue their success with playoffs right around the corner. We wish them the best of luck here at the Radnorite!

Girls Basketball – Bree Simpson:
In the midst of their season, RGB is thriving and the team’s future looks bright. Over the past few weeks, the Raptors have put together an impressive stretch of wins against Strath Haven, Conestoga, Springfield and Upper Darby. In addition to these key victories, RGB captain Nyah Yao left her official mark in Radnor history. During the home game against Upper Darby, Yao scored her 1,000th career point, becoming only the fourth girl to reach this milestone in program history. This achievement marks a major moment for both Yao and the team and is sure to motivate the Raptors as the season continues. With exciting games ahead, be sure to tune in and show your support!
Boys Ice Hockey – Mohammed Badri:
RAHO returned this past Friday aiming to start the new year with some success. The Boys faced Marple on the 9th at PNY sports arena, and there was no shortage of action. Our shining stars on ice managed to take a lead, but after a couple costly mistakes, they fell narrowly short, conceding 2 goals in a 5 minute power play. However, this game simply provided important lessons for the squad, and the following Monday, the Raptors found redemption in the form of a 6-7 win over Garnet Valley, with a spectacular full team performance earning the gritty victory. As the team approaches the Central League playoffs, they intend to work on closing games out, and Monday’s game is the perfect start.
Girls Ice Hockey – Grace Kimlinger:
Radnor Girls Ice Hockey moved into the new year with speed and passion. So far in 2026, the team dominated over Pennridge in a 10-0 win, continuing a 3 game win streak. Despite 2 tough losses to Downingtown West and WC East, the team’s 5-6 record reflects their hard work and endurance, along with a promising future ahead. With 4 games left in the season, RGIH is sure to have some more standout performances, so be sure to be on the lookout!
Girls Indoor Track – Grace Kimlinger:
While the weather’s grown colder, RGTF hasn’t cooled off one bit! Over winter break, the team put in the time on the track and came into the new year strong at the Ocean Breeze Freedom Games on January 3rd. In the 1600m, Clara Murphy placed 3rd in her division, with a 6:11.57, while Coco Conner placed 12th in a different division with a 5:23.46. Katelyn Anderson ran a 10:40.64 in the 3000m, earning her 9th place, and Isabel Schaal ran a blazing 44.23 in the 300m, earning her 6th. The success didn’t end there, though! On January 8th, a larger group of runners attended the UC Indoor Relays, which might make team history as the quickest meet ever (it only took around 2 hours!). Here, the 4x400m and 4x800m relays both placed first! As the season continues, RGTF looks forward to a few more meets ahead. Be sure to keep an eye out for more blazing times!
Cheerleading – Abigail Merschel:
Radnor Cheerleading has been busy! Within the past few weeks we have gone full swing into our competition and basketball season as well. Recently, we competed at the PIAA District 1 Competition – along with the rest of the District 1 teams at Central Bucks South. The girls worked hard to put on a strong performance, a great way to start off the winter season. This past weekend, the girls competed at Archbishop Carroll and walked away with a 1st place finish! Coming up, the girls will take on the Central League Competition, which includes performances and placements from each team in the Central League. This competition also allows coaches to determine the All-Central team, which is awarded each year at the banquet. Basketball season is also in full swing for Radnor Cheerleading, the girls look forward to cheering on the Raptors to victory in the upcoming weeks. Go Radnor!
Girls Squash – Gabrielle Eun:
The Radnor Girls Squash Team is back for another competitive season! Before winter break, there was some tough match play against Conestoga where they suffered a brief loss, 0-8. However, after a well deserved holiday break and a brand new year, our girls are ready to bounce back! In the meantime, everyone has been very busy practicing hard these past few weeks getting ready for our match against Agnes Irwin School on Friday (1/16). Despite our current track record, the Radnor Girls Squash Team is looking for an exciting and competitive season ahead! We wish them lots of love and luck for the rest of the season!
