Winter is right around the corner and almost all of our fall sports teams concluded their seasons in the past week. To say this fall has been busy is a complete understatement. With our seniors applying to college, juniors beginning rigorous SAT prep, sophomores taking their first APs, and freshmen trying to find their footing, the fall marked many new changes and challenges for the entirety of Radnor’s student population. With that being said, the Roundup has not been on it’s game, unlike our fall sports teams. The Sports Editorial Board and I look to change this in the coming months, bringing back the beloved biweekly Roundup in full swing.
The entire Radnorite would also like to extend our luck to Radnor Girls Soccer team in their upcoming State Championship game on Saturday 11/15 at 1pm. RGS has made history this season, and they’re not done yet. The girls look to bring home a state trophy on Saturday. Best of luck to our girls, Radnor is cheering you on!

Girls Soccer – Reece Brown:
The Radnor Girls Soccer team has had an electric year, ending the regular season with an impressive record of 14-4. With big wins against Conestoga, Garnet Valley, and Marple Newtown, RGS is ready for playoffs. Recently, they’ve pulled off overtime wins against Lower Merion and Haverford, with game winning goals from senior Maeve Mucksavage and sophomore Ellie Rubin. Securing the victory over Haverford, the girls won the Central League title for the first time in 24 years!
Senior captains Maeve Mucksavage, Ryan Ertel, and Francesca Lucchesi are a huge reason for the girls’ success. Lucchesi holds down the defense as center-back, Ertel commands the midfield, and Mucksavage dominates on the wing. Senior Anna Reger came out with a dominant season as well, locking down wingers as an outside back. Not to go unnoticed, Kayla Cormier (senior) has created countless scoring opportunities and finished multiple goals, helping Radnor secure many wins.
Boys Soccer – Olivia Effron:
The Radnor Boys Soccer Team advanced to the district playoffs, opening against Holy Ghost Prep on their home field at Encke. After a scoreless first half, the Gents broke through early in the second half with a goal that secured them a 1-0 win. In the next round, Radnor faced Harriton on their turf in a challenging rematch after falling to them in the regular season. In a hard-fought battle, the boys came up short, losing 3-1. That game marked the end of their great season.
Field Hockey – Nancy Wible & Alivia Wallis:
The Radnor Field Hockey team, led by captains, Tatum Jolley, Julia Morris, and Nancy Wible, ended their season last Thursday with a tough 4-2 loss versus Carroll. Before that, on Tuesday, October 14th, they honored their five seniors , Katie Cleffi, Tatum Jolley, Anne Marie Kubala, Siena Lavelle, and Lynn Van Voorn in a game versus Haverford, which ended in a stiff 0-0 tie after one overtime period. Other than that, this season was filled with lots of fundraising and Dream Crazy games, including their games against Agnis Irwin, Downingtown West, and Gwynedd Mercy, honoring the recent passing of Coach Gretta Ehret. RGFH played each game carrying on her legacy and competitive spirit, always remembering to Dream Crazy.
Football – Nahla Cooper:
Raptor football really found its footing in the first 2 weeks of its season. Showing out with impressive blowout wins over Harriton and Conestoga, finding themselves with a 2-0 record. Now the Raptors find themselves 2-8, and after a close loss to Lower Merion, Radnor ends the season 2-9. Luke Reilly, star quarterback made an impressive 80-yard punt against LM. The Raptors battled hard against LM even with the absence of Mikey Enright. Unfortunately, Friday Night Lights has come to an end at Radnor after a great, memorable season.
Girls Crew – Arielle Mims:
This year, Radnor Girls Crew Club is in the hands of new head coach, Coach John Breen. Since preseason the girls have been working hard, both on land lifting and erging, and of course on the water as well. Though RGCC did not attend Kings Head Regatta, as they have done in the past, it was an opportunity to refine and improve their technique and performance. This past weekend RGCC sent an eight comprised of coxswain Phoebe Chaskelson and rowers Anna Wampole, Malaika Virk, Maisie Wetzel, Lindsay Collett, Ani Harper, Lizzie Martin, Claire Marino, and Nadia Dougherty to the Head of the Charles Regatta. Alternates Catherine Oblack, Kate Mallory, and Caroline Croke also attended the 4 day-long event with the team. Ani Harper remarked that HOCR was, “A really cool environment to be in because it was a community of people who do the same sport. It was fun especially to get to trace in a new area.” RGCC has a quick turnaround because the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta takes place right in Philly this weekend. For many, this will be their first fall race. RGCC has been working hard all season, and are anticipating some amazing results from this race.
Boys Crew Mohammed Badri:
Radnor Boys Crew has started the season with a lot of heavy lifting. The group this year is especially young, with over half the varsity crew being sophomores. The team spent the first few weeks preparing the boys for the King’s Head Regatta in Upper Merion, which saw multiple boats medal against some tough and not-so-tough competition. The following weeks were dedicated to the famous Head of the Charles, which Radnor had a U19 coxed four and U19 double entered in. The four, headlined by cox and captain Mohammed Badri, was rowed by Matvei Marchenko, Sev Thomas, Shane Morrissey, and Carter Frank. The double was rowed by captain Hugo Rowbotham and Veer Gaur. Alternate Alex Cicci was also brought to Boston, and his presence was much appreciated. This weekend the boys head to their home course in Philly for the Head of the Schuylkill. It will be a great opportunity to race and to continue developing the young team.
Boys XC – Owen Quigley:
The Radnor Boys’ Cross Country team is well into their excellent season, with strong performances across the board. After countless weeks of preseason training, the boys kicked off September with the Unionville 2 Mile Bash, where captains Jack Wible and Connor Walsh both placed within the Top 20 of their respective age groups. Gaining headway, the team had an overall record of 6-7 during their regular season Central Athletic League races. Meanwhile, on weekends, the boys were crushing their personal bests at invitationals in Hershey and Souderton and at the Delco Champs. Most recently, XC competed at the Central League Championships, where the Varsity and JV squads placed 8th and 6th out of the 12 total teams in each division. Walsh ran an impressive 17:02.10, finishing 6th out of 80 runners, while Wible followed closely behind, coming in 24th. Despite battling injuries, senior Ian Bridy led the JV race, securing 2nd. With Districts and States on the horizon, the boys are determined to finish the season on a high note. We wish them the best of luck.
Girls XC – Grace Kimlinger:
RGXC has been on a roll this fall season! Starting in late August, the girls have trained hard on and off the track, led by coaches Tom Flanagan and Marisa Livoti, plus the wonderful influence of captains Mia Richter, Isabella Flores, Emily Decker, and Nora Elliott. The season started off strong with a 5th place team finish at the Unionville Invitational. Over the course of 3 Central Athletic League meets, RGXC ran undefeated, with an 11-0 record, making them co-champions of the league (along with Conestoga). At Delco Championships, the team placed 3rd in both JV and Varsity in a competitive field. In the Central League Championship, the girls ran hard in both JV and Varsity races, again placing third in both categories. Moving into October, the team came out on top at the Souderton Invitational, with two runners in the top 25. As the team travelled to Districts at Lehigh on 10/24, the dream was to place in the top 5 teams to qualify for the state championships. While RGXC came up short, placing 6th by only 10 points, the girls fought hard and nearly all the runners ran huge PRs. Additionally, both sophomore Coco Conner and junior Katelyn Anderson earned a spot at PIAA State Championships, which took place this past weekend. In a competitive field of over 200 runners, Coco and Katelyn placed 97th and 73rd, respectively. Huge congrats to all of RGXC for all of their hard work this season!! Even though cross country has come to an end, we look forward to Indoor Track starting in a few weeks!
Cheerleading – Abigail Mershcel:
Radnor Cheerleading has had a successful season so far! Ranging from UCA camp to choreography, we have been working hard since August piecing together our competition routine and nailing down cheers to help encourage our Radnor Football team! Additionally, the team has been working to perfect our LM routine, which was performed in front of the whole school on Friday, 10/31. Following the joyous events of LM Week, Radnor Cheerleading’s competition team will go on to compete at their opening competition, UCA Regionals on 11/16 in hopes of receiving an invitation to UCA Nationals taking place this upcoming January. Cannot wait to see where the rest of our season takes us, Go Raptors & Beat LM!
Golf – Sally Pegg:
The Radnor golf team had an extraordinary run this year, with the “Top 8” going undefeated in the regular season and the “Next 8” following close behind. The team earned major match victories against Radnor’s biggest rivals including Conestoga, Lower Merion, and Harriton. The team closed out the regular season with the annual Radnor Cup, where the roster was split into Team Krupp and Team Ach for a fierce in-house battle at Radnor Valley. The match ended in a tie, allowing Team Ach to retain the cup and emerge victoriously. That finale set the stage for an equally strong postseason. The postseason play was just as impressive with nearly half of the team roster advancing to Centrals, with several golfers making it to Districts. Senior captains Elayna Fanelli, Brad McDermott, and Lannon Boyd went on to compete at States. They were joined by freshmen, Gavin Reger and Sebastian Leone, rounding out the ultimate Radnor lineup. This was the 3rd consecutive year the team attended states. With seniors closing out on a high note, Elayna tying for 5th, the boys placing 2nd overall, and freshmen already competing at the state level, Radnor golf finished with astonishing results and a remarkable season, leaving a mark in Radnor High School’s history forever.
Girls Tennis – Emily Takefman:
The Radnor girl’s tennis season recently wrapped up its amazing season for the year. The girls created unforgettable memories throughout the season, from the first day of tryouts, to the last racket tap of the year. With 11 wins – 4 losses, RGT was able to compete in districts. Although the team did not place in districts, freshman Betsy Ask and Ridley Longsworth were able to demolish their way to states in doubles, which will happen on October 31. The outstanding season would not have been able to happen without the RGT captains, Maya Imperato, Brenna Kent, and Perri Simonian. Thank you to these captains and best of luck Betsy and Ridley!
Boys Ultimate Frisbee – Kavin Thapar:
This past weekend, the Radnor High School Boys Ultimate Frisbee team faced off against the nation’s third-ranked team, Wissahickon, in an intense tournament matchup. Despite the tough competition, Radnor held their own, showing strong teamwork, resilience, and steady improvement. A highlight of the weekend came when freshman Elliot scored his first tournament goal, sparking energy and momentum across the team. Veteran players led with sharp defense and smart disc movement, while the younger players continued to step up and gain valuable experience against elite opponents. Now, Radnor Ultimate is looking ahead to their next challenge, the last tournament of the season coming this weekend. The team aims to build on last week’s lessons, tighten their offensive flow, and bring even more intensity to the field. With confidence growing and chemistry building, Radnor is ready to keep the momentum going into their next big competition.
Girls Ultimate Frisbee / Disc Golf – Anrui Xu:
RGUF is ready to have an amazing year! In the past two months of practices, the team has been focusing on teaching rookies about the game and preparing for the more competitive spring season. To further develop their throwing abilities and enjoy the autumn scenery, RGUF players have also branched out by participating in the inaugural season of the Philadelphia Disc Alliance’s co-ed high school disc golf league. Over the long weekend of October 18-20, the team, plus boys’ frisbee captain Harrison Westby, took on four courses: Edgely, Sedgley, Fort Washington, and the Haverford Reserve. With 175-gram Discraft Ultrastars in hand, RGUF had plenty of laughs as they hucked and dished their way through brambled forest trails, rocky slopes, and picturesque meadows. Meanwhile, anticipation has been building for the annual city-wide KitKat tournament, which will be held on Sunday, October 26. The team is excited to close out the fall with a great performance!
Volleyball – Ava Preate:
The Radnor Girls Volleyball team wrapped up a historic season, marked by record-breaking achievements and unforgettable moments. The team made school history by defeating Conestoga for the first time in 20 years and securing a hard-fought win over Lower Merion. Their strong performance earned them a spot in the playoffs, where they battled hard but ultimately fell to Merion Mercy in the first round. At the end-of-season banquet, standout players were honored for their contributions: Senior Captain Shivani Kuber received the Coach’s Award, Junior Setter Ysa Sanchez was named MVP, Junior Outside Hitter Kayla Tilghman earned Impact Player of the Year, and Senior Leah Bevenour was recognized with the Spirit Award. It was a season full of grit, growth, and pride for Radnor Volleyball.
