Sweeping changes are coming to the RHS cafeteria! Starting in January 2026, Radnor Township will be sourcing its lunches from a new vendor: CADY Studios. The decision was announced last Thursday to a cheering crowd of adoring students gathered in the library before first period.
Although CADY Studios is best known for its senior portrait photography, the company also operates a little-known food service. The introduction of CADY lunches will come with some new policies following their corporate philosophy. Notably, students will have a wider range of options for meals*:
- Sampler ($12.99): Two (2) pieces of rigatoni pasta, seven (7) grains of cooked rice, three (3) baby carrots
- Sampler Plus ($13.99): Six (6) pieces of rigatoni pasta, seven (7) grains of cooked rice, three (3) baby carrots
- Elite ($789.99): Five-hundred-thirty-one (531) pieces of tortellini pasta, three (3) bags of uncooked rice, fifty (50) full-size carrots
- Super Elite ($889.99 if student purchases the meal within fifteen seconds of reaching the front of the lunch line, $949.99 otherwise): Five-hundred-eighty-nine (589) pieces of tortellini pasta, four (4) bags of uncooked rice, one (1) county-fair-winning giant pumpkin (2,346 lbs)
- Super Ultra Unlimited Elite ($4,459,599.99): The entire stock of the cafeteria, plus all digital images of the foods
*Note: Limit one meal per student per day. All purchased food must be consumed in the RHS cafeteria area during scheduled lunch periods and may not be shared with other students. Leftovers will be thrown out.
In addition, the company will charge a modest $40 Standard entrance fee to access the lunch line and cafeteria, and an $80 Premium Unlimited Elite fee for exclusive perks, such as courtyard seating and a private lunch consultant informing the student of what the tastiest foods are.
To prepare the Radnor population for the switch, CADY was hired to take pictures for student ID cards in September. Cards emblazoned with the words “No Image Available” were distributed in order to acclimate students to the experience of not receiving lunch or other CADY services in a timely manner.
Enthusiasm for the implementation of CADY’s services has been so widespread that the district is considering another major proposal to improve lunch experiences. Starting in the 2026-27 school year, Lunches A and B are likely to be consolidated into one school-wide Lunch A period. AP Statistics teacher Mr. Hunsberger has been a prominent supporter of this potential decision, remarking that “according to my extrapolation, this pattern of reducing the number of lunch periods by one each year will lead to us having -7 lunches within the next decade! How exciting.” The mathematics department is yet to come to a consensus about what a negative number of lunch periods would mean for Radnor, but some preliminary theories suggest that it may lead to a reversal of prices where CADY would be paying students to eat food.
At any rate, it looks like the future of lunch at RHS is bright.
