As a freshman at Radnor High School, I was simply shocked by the magnitude of the hallway decorations for Lower Merion (LM) Week. I was amazed by the creativity of the students and faculty advisors; it was obvious that a tremendous amount of effort went into the decorating. I felt incredible pride in how my school community could put together such a striking display. Â
2025 marks the 129th year of the rivalry between Radnor High School and Lower Merion High School, the longest continuous public high school rivalry in the country. Over the years, the events surrounding this rivalry have become increasingly elaborate. Now, it is tradition to hold the LM pep rally during school on Friday, the game on Saturday afternoon, and then the LM Dance Saturday night. Every year there is an overarching theme for LM Week that is incorporated into the festivities, including the hallway decorations. Each grade is assigned a topic within the theme to decorate its designated hallway. This year the theme was Spotify, and each grade was allocated two genres of music. At the beginning of LM week, on October 27th, the students saw the hallway decorations for the first time after weeks of dedication from the student body.

When I first walked into Radnor High School on the Monday of LM Week, I was blown away by the artistry and dedication of our student body. The energy in the halls made LM Week feel even more special — and truly unforgettable. Even if we did not walk away with a win on November 1st at Prevost Field, I believe we won with our school spirit and creativity. I am so excited to see what our hallways look like next year!
